the cheeriness of saturday afternoon was lost on me as another tiff among other people surfaced, and made me think hard to figure out what could be done to ease the friction between those two people. is it difficult to be considerate and sincere? sigh.
but thankfully, for every lull that exists, there are many more peaks that mark my days. just like how uli, celia and yihua totally surprised me with a birthday cheesecake slice just when my mind was heavy with thoughts, and just lighted a spark in my day :) and the birthday song from the girls (uli, celia, yihua, angel and karen) really cheered me up. how very sweet of them!
turning 22 was a distant thought last year, and is a very current thought right now. haha.
highlights of this birthday:
- about.life 's march babies dinner for chee peck and me @miss clarity cafe. the cakes from bakerzin tasted sinfully delicious, and the mark of a true good cake is one that tastes heavenly despite being smashed into a suspicious blob. heh, but uli, no worries... hope u didnt feel bad tt day.. we were merely teasing u ;P
- mr ma, from the ac alumni choir, singing an elegant rendition of happy birthday as jacqi, shannon (spelt correctly?) and i gazed at the chocolate truffle cake (also courtesy of the generous mr ma)
- c's treat at Altivo, from which we had a spectacular view of the sea and sentosa, complete with Trollinger and Eiswein from the Uhlbacher vineyard in Stuttgart. dry red wine with the main course, followed by fantastic ice wine which was so sweet.
- good conversation with victor at olio dome over mocha in the afternoon.
- sharing coffeetime with karan at coffeebean, when among other things, he reminded me that i was a terrible and forgetful friend for i had forgotten his birthday while he remembers mine very clearly.
- receiving a hippo-birdie-deer-two-ewe card from qiongie!
- talking to kc and receiving a parcel from him :)
