this is so good and so bad. flaky pastry crust cradling dense, sweet and slightly wobbly egg custard. after lunch. even though the best ive tasted were from hk - maybe we'll be reunited this fri!! - an egg tart on a lazy wednesday afternoon in the office is still a treat. a major treat. any form of restraint flaps thinly when im in front of a bakery, especially in front of an old-school chinese pastry bakery which has awesome char siew sous, polo buns, and tarts.

 

*double chin pops out* im taking comfort from the fact that (i) i hardly ever snack while at work (though this tart is weakening my resolve for the days to come) and (ii) if it has to be calorie laden, better to have it earlier in the day when your body has more hours to work it off.

 

 

best thing about this egg tart treat...is that there's a char siew po lo bun in the waiting..hahah.
