it was a thoroughly enjoyable lunch, befitting of a friday even though it's actually thurs. i've got ms m, mr g and b to thank for this, cos they were just so sporting and refreshing to be with. I was only expecting a typical lunch at amoy/ip/whitehouse but instead we headed to spizza at harbourfront centre. The best bit? spizza had a set lunch special at $8.80++ for a 3 course meal comprising of soup/salad, an 8-inch super thin crust pizza, and topped up with gourmet coffee/tea. Yes, great bang for the buck! Sure beats the sandwiches along shenton way..haha.

But food aside, the company was nice. Meeting new people, seeing another side of the organisation, learning more and just interacting more. The lunchtime banter reminded me of the jc B group - how the b guys horsed around and cracked the silliest jokes and made fun of rory and i to no end. m and i were spared the teasing part this time, but the crappy jokes were refreshing. Sure beats listening to complaints or gripes all the time *haha*.

Mr g and b sprang a surprise, or rather they intended to go there but m and i were surprised, by going to the Tanjong Pagar Railway station for tea! There have been blog posts about the *famour* nasi briyani at the Railway station, but I was still pleasantly surprised that the eatery was not a hole in the wall outfit, but had quite an extensive selection of snacks and fried kuehs. M and I were particularly amused by the banana bombs. delicious- looking, deep fried and greasy mounds. definitely a cardiac bomb.

The guys were very generous in insisting that we try the tehs ala m'sia style, and so we sat at the tables by the railway tracks like all the other loaf-ish (oops! but true)-looking people sipping the ultra sweet and milky tehs while enjoying the oasis of calm. It's quite amazing how time seemed to have stood still in the railway station, and how chilled-out everyone else there seemed. Naturally, m and i were just so excited to have finally been there, though I must add that the excitement was aided by the fact that we were maxing out the lunch hour, and that this 'oasis' was actually just a stone's throw away from office.

see, there's more to life that work, and there's more to lunch than just sandwiches from sweet secrets.

haha.
