We had a most wonderfullicious meal yesterday, and it rather proves that there are times when you just need to act on impulses to add some spice to your life.

The signs were there: no bus after 15min, but a line of available taxis - a very very rare sighting, especially in the city area. A famous street shrouded in dim lighting, and with only 3 signboards along that row of shophouses were lit.

Kc decided that we should just go ahead to check out the Blue Lobster - since we were there - despite the rather steep prices. We even joked about how our atas tastebuds have gotten the better of our wallets.. He was spot on! The restaurant exuded a homey, romantic ambience, with tastefully done up furnishings, and the service was attentive too. That was how we chatted with the boss and discovered that the sister restaurant was the Greenwood Market famous for its fish and chips, and that the company also dealt in the import and export of seafood - a natural move to control upstream and downstream perhaps?

The food was absolutely delicious. Treats for the eyes, treats for the palate. Clams seared in a savoury broth of parsely, butter, white wine and stock. Mushrooms panfried in deep rich brown sauce served in a filo pastry basket with rocket lettuce.  Beer battered fish that was lightly and crispily battered, chips that retained its rustic potato flavour, a side salad drizzled with tangy balsamic dressing that complemented the oils from the fish and chips. You know they are serious about their fare when even the sides taste so good. Linguini vongole (although they used spaghetti) with more of those to-die-for clams, swirled in white wine and parsley stock. We just couldn't help finishing everything till the last drop of sauce was gone. That good.

Yummmy.
