You know, for all those crying fits and crazy wailing sessions and times when I, yes even I, get exasperated with her, when I think of R, every fibre in me just breaks into a smile.
That's just like falling in love, all over again rite?
Well, for every one bad moment, there must be many other sweet or hilarious ones to remember. Just a few cute ones which have kept me tickled for the past week:
* during her bath, she squirmed and managed to flip from a sitting position to a swimming position (i.e. chest facing downwards). Then, she squirms and inches forward (by pushing her legs against my arm) to... suck on the edge of the bathtub!
* she watches intently while we have dinner, her mouth quivering longingly and her eyes tracking the movement of the spoon. Just to tease her, we dip the spoon into soup, and place the empty soup-coated spoon in front of her. before we could say "jack robinson!", she grabbed the spoon with two arms and happily munched on the spoon!
* while playing on the coloured foam mat, she starts to fuss and squirm (probably cos she was bored) and cries to be carried. Exasperated, and tired out from a sleepless night, I said " baby R, just lie down here for a while?" and placed her gently, back down, on the mat. She cries so loudly to show her disapproval. And then, she suddenly quietens down and shows a stern expression. And then "pooooop!!" I hear two loud farts and the sound of her pooping. And just as those sounds were heard, her face breaks into a coy smile. And she lies there, rather still, just smiling and looking at me. Hhaaha
* After nursing , she squirmed out of my embrace and somehow manages to slide down my legs (i.e. my two legs form a slide for her to slide on). Just as she was sitting on my feet, instead of squirming for another go, she just sat there very still. And "pooooop" ... she pooped! And then she turned her back, looked at me, and smiled.
* she's now developing better control of her arm and hands. while nursing, her free arm starts to wave around, exploring her mummy and just generally reaching out for anything that she can grab or tickle. Many a times, even though her eyes are closed while nursing, her free arm is waving in the air like a hip hop rapper "put your hands up!".
Ah, my little R :)
