Yeah to Cha Can Tengs!
IHT's article on Comfort Food in Hong Kong hits the sweet spot, or at least my soft spot for food in HK. I just adore the variety of food that's on the menus and walls, and the fact that they cater to all your whims and fancies. A cup of hot, strong and decadent milky tea with polo bun, after that bowl of flavourful noodles topped with succulent roast char siew. Cmon! Then you pop over to the dessert hut next door to satiate the dessert rat in you. Fragrant almond tea, or sweet slushy mango pomelo soup? Ah, let's try the dainty mango and cream crepe.
Gasp, it's no wonder we have put on weight since the HK stint in 06.
So what if the HK cafes in Singapore aren't authentic in the HK sense? I'm so glad they are here.
